A New Level of Learning and Teaching

On Thursday, May 11, 2017, the University of Maryland dedicates the new Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center. Named for Baltimore-based developer, philanthropist and 1961 alumnus, Edward St. John, founder and chairman of St. John Properties, the 187,000-square- foot space, which includes 12 classrooms and nine teaching labs with a total of 1,500 seats, will elevate the culture of collaborative learning on campus.

Famous Sculpture Finds New Home at UMD

The famous sculpture has been installed in the new building as part of the collaboration between The Phillips Collection and the University of Maryland.

UMD Innovates | Meet RoCo

The Force is strong with this one! RoCo, or the Roving Comforter, is the future of heating and cooling. Instead of changing the temperature of an entire building, this robot adjusts the air around an individual, cutting up to 20% in energy costs. Designed by UMD engineers, RoCo offers a more sustainable and cost-effective solution to temperature regulation.
