Homecoming 2013COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland will welcome back thousands of alumni this weekend during the 2013 Homecoming weekend – Remember the Red. The festivities kick-off on Friday night with a pre-party festival and pep rally on McKeldin Mall. The event, which is new this year, includes:

3-10 p.m.: Ride the inflatables, climb the rock wall, play games of chance and treat yourself to a funnel cake.

6-10 p.m.: Visit the beer garden (21+ over only)

7:30-8:30 p.m.: The Homecoming step show returns. Cheer on UMD’s historically African-American Greek-letter fraternities and sororities as they perform

8:45-9:45 p.m.: Winners of the Greek skit competitions take the stage, followed by a pep rally featuring cheerleaders and dance team, the Mighty Sound of Maryland marching band, and Testudo!

10 p.m.: Fireworks

And what Homecoming celebration would be complete without football? Before the Terps take on the Clemson Tigers on Saturday, October 26, alumni can participate in a tailgating contest, and enjoy food, drinks and activities at Terp Town or the Remember the Red Party. The weekend culmination begins with the Terps kick-off at 3:30 p.m. at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
